& Movement Improvisation Class

with Megan Bridge

Thursdays, 6:30-8:30pm

Continuing in Fall 2024 at Full Circle Yoga

1611 Walnut St, 4th Floor

$15-$35 sliding scale, scroll down for registration info and details on October 2024 schedule

This weekly class is an invitation into movement, mindfulness, and presence. Formal dance training is not required, but participants should be comfortable in their bodies and, ideally, have some kind of regular physical practice.

On selected Thursdays in October, the class will run as a Group Motion Workshop, with live music by Wesley Rast. The Group Motion Workshop is a guided process of dance/movement improvisation with live music that originated as a practice by Brigitta Herrmann and Manfred Fischbeck with the Group Motion Dance Company in 1971. Megan Bridge was certified as a GMW facilitator in 2022. For more information and history of the workshop, visit Group Motion’s website here: https://www.groupmotion.org/workshops.

On “movement workshop” weeks, Bridge will guide participants through a similar experience using recorded music and broken down into smaller exercises, with time for somatic exploration, play and discussion.
