Join us for a one-week intensive, with a warming technique class every morning from 10-12, and an improvisation and creative process class each afternoon from 1-3. You can sign up for the whole week, a full day, or individual classes! Full class descriptions and tuition info below.

Class Descriptions
Technique class will include concepts from modern and contemporary dance as well as bodywork practices. Concentrating on developing a mobile pelvis and articulate spine, we will touch on Graham and Pilates in conversation with Klein and release-based technique. Dancers will warm and mobilize a powerful center, moving in and out of the floor, balancing, and covering space. We’ll also bring detail to our extremities, from the fingertips to the eyeballs. Come work up a sweat, laugh, and dance to a wide variety of music from funk to folk.
Improvisation + creative process class is an invitation into the moment, into mindfulness, and into acute physical awareness. This class approaches improvisational dance as a practice of expanding perception. Using breath, stillness, and quiet in the warmup, we will begin to allow a multitude of signals into our experience with each passing moment. Picking up communication, we will move and dance in deep physical resonance with the space, with sound, and with each other. We will progress to performing for each other in partners and small groups.
Participants should be comfortable with partnering up for massage and touch exercises, and coming into light contact with other dancers in both of these classes.
Being at home in your body with a regular movement practice is recommended for taking this intensive.
